Tag Lock Settings Protection

Optional protection against changing Screen Time settings during an active Tag Lock session.

This setup uses a personal automation to leave Settings whenever Tag Lock is actively blocking. The automation does nothing while Tag Lock is unblocked.

Set up the automation

  1. Install Apple’s Shortcuts app and make sure Tag Lock has been opened at least once.
  2. Open Shortcuts and select the Automation tab.
  3. Create a personal automation and select App.
  4. Choose Settings, select Is Opened, and choose Run Immediately.
  5. Create a blank automation and add the Enforce Tag Lock action.
  6. Save the automation.

Prevent changes during a block

Add Shortcuts to your master blocked-app selection. This prevents the personal automation from being edited while master blocking is active.

Test the automation

  1. Start master blocking in Tag Lock.
  2. Open Settings. Tag Lock should immediately return to the foreground.
  3. End master blocking and open Settings again. Settings should remain open normally.

Personal automations are optional and can be changed or removed while Tag Lock is unblocked.
