Tag Lock is a digital wellbeing app that lets you control selected app, category, and website blocking with NFC tags.
The master tag is your main NFC tag. It turns your main blocking mode on or off.
A peripheral tag starts a temporary mode for a set duration. It can temporarily unblock everything, or it can switch to a different selected set of blocked apps.
Emergency unlocks are a limited backup option for situations where your NFC tag is lost, damaged, or unavailable.
The refill delay helps prevent emergency unlocks from becoming a normal way to bypass a blocking session. Emergency unlocks are intended for recovery situations.
You can request a delayed emergency unlock refill using your device recovery code.

Tag Lock is designed to avoid intentionally blocking itself so that you can still access settings and recovery options.
NFC tags create physical friction. Instead of changing settings instantly from the phone, you need access to the physical tag that controls the blocking mode.
Most tag blocking features are local to your device. Internet access is only needed for recovery-code registration and delayed emergency unlock refill requests.
If something is not working, make sure Tag Lock has Screen Time permission and NFC permission, then try restarting the app.
